Regis Lemaitre acquired his passion for Scotch Whisky during his many years experiences at the highest level of the hotel industry. Of French origin, Regis is proof that the Auld Alliance does exist. Regis has lived and worked in London from 1989 to 1993 and in Scotland until 2012. Back onto the continent Regis spent 3 years in the French Alpes and the last 3 years in a Suisse Palace in Montreux.
Hotel Bar Experiences Régis worked at The American Bar at the Stafford Hotel in London for 4 years, then 10 years as Bar Manager at the famous Old Course Hotel Golf Resort & Spa in St Andrews where The Road Hole Bar won « The First Dram Hotel Whisky Bar of the Year » for Scotland in 1997 then another 3 years as Bar Manager at The Gleneagles Hotel home of the European Ryder's Cup in Auchterarder where he was responsible for the selection and promotion of the large collection of 200 whiskies. In 2012 Regis returns to France as Bar Manager for Temmos, a Group of Hotels of high altitude part of the larger groupe Algonquin before joinning the Fairmont Montreux Palace as Bar Manager at the Famous Funky Claude’s Bar (ex NY Harry's Bar).
Whisky activities Since the creation of his first company Regis Whisky Mad from 2006 to 2012, Regis as organised in English and French: Whisky Tastings, Whisky Dinners, Whisky Training, Distillery tours in Scotland and Ireland and performed the Address to a Haggis in the words of Robbie Burns. Regis also realised 5 independant single cask bottling carefully selected under his label Regis Whisky Mad. Today in 2018 another story beginne with -Regis Lemaitre -Whisky My Solution- coming back fulltime to the world of whisky proposing a number of propositions which can be seen on this website.
Consultancy During the 6 years as Regis Whisky Mad, Regis as performed many masterclasses, animated whisky dinners, delivered whisky training, explained the association of whisky and cigars and animated blind whisky tasting in the UK, Blegium, Holland, Spain, Germany, France, Italy and Canada. Regis is an advisor in whisky for bars, collectors and individuals. In 2018 Regis takes on a new position as whisky presenter supplier for whisky distribution companies in Switzerland such as Pernod Ricard, Diageo
